Official Launch of Thonmi Tsuglag Daily World — June 2025

Thonmi Tsuglag Daily World is the only news outlet delivering daily international news entirely in Tibetan.

The project was founded on a simple but powerful belief: being informed in one’s own language is a fundamental right.

As an independent, non-profit platform, it operates without political affiliations or commercial sponsors, ensuring impartial and accurate information.

All content is free and available to everyone, providing daily updates on global affairs, politics, health, technology, and more, all in clear Tibetan. In a fast changing world, Thonmi Tsuglag Daily World strives to make global news accessible and understandable in Tibetan, helping readers keep pace with developments that affect their lives.

The platform reaches Tibetans all around the world, both within Tibetan regions and abroad; it offers news and insights that are specially valuable where access to independent information is limited, and enganges a growing community of readers. Since 2022, it has delivered daily news in Tibetan, published four books and a magazine, and had the honour of presenting its work to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In June 2025, the platform held its official launch with the presence of Mr. Tenzin Lekshay, Spokerperson and Additional Secretary of the CTA, and Ven. Lobsang Monlam, Director of the Monlam Tibetan IT Research Centre.

Looking ahead, Thonmi Tsuglag Daily World is committed to continuing its work and expanding its reach, developing new channels beyond written news, including audio formats. This will make news accessible not only to those who read Tibetan fluently but also to the elderly, visually impaired, and illiterate; allow Tibetans living around the world to mantain a connection with their spoken language and cultural identity; and provide greater flexibility for all readers to engage with news anytime and anywhere.
