BEGINNER

Contents

Conversation I – Basic Communicative Functions

• Self-introduction and personal information.
• Possessive particles and the use of the verb “to have”.
• Expressions of location.

Conversation II – Verb Usage and Tense

• Verb usage in sentence structures.
• The three principal tenses.
• Distinction between agentive and non-agentive verbs.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to communicate effectively in a range of situations, follow spoken Tibetan in everyday contexts, and understand the main grammatical structures encountered in written Tibetan.

INTERMEDIATE

Contents

• Classification of effort and non-effort verbs as a contemporary perspective in Tibetan grammar.
• Identification, sentence construction, and correction.
• Expansion of vocabulary through spoken and written Tibetan.

Learning Outcomes

Students will expand their vocabulary, develop greater fluency in spoken Tibetan, understand increasingly complex written Tibetan, and analyze and apply key grammatical distinctions with greater precision.

ADVANCED

Learning Outcomes

Students will communicate with greater fluency and natural expression, understand spoken Tibetan across a wide range of contexts, and work directly with texts on grammar, Buddhism, and other specialized subjects.
